From plastic to fantastic: creative waste
Visit + workshop for school groups at the exhibition Plastic. Brilliant or perverse?
This visit-workshop activity allows school groups to enjoy an interactive visit to the exhibition Plastic. Brilliant or perverse? and, subsequently, participate in a creative workshop on plastic waste reuse for another hour.
During the first part, a guided visit is offered, which will encourage critical thinking, with a detailed explanation of the plastic problem and its impact on the environment. Next, in the workshop, students will create a film from reused plastic designed by themselves, which will serve as material for various creations such as, for example, a cardholder. The activity can also be done in reverse: first the workshop, then the visit.
In addition to reflecting on the impacts of plastic, students will learn about works by contemporary artists created with recycled materials, broaden their understanding of the creative possibilities of plastic as a material, while fostering awareness and increasing consciousness about their daily habits.
For this activity, each group will need to work on the content beforehand in class, learning about the different types of thermoplastics and collecting material that will be reused during the workshop.
This is the educational proposal linked to the exhibition Plastic. Brilliant or perverse?.
