Environmental Policy

Imagining a more sustainable future

Museu Terra is a cultural centre that preserves, creates and shares knowledge while fostering reflection and debate on sustainable social change through the rural culture. In September 2019, we recognised the climatic emergency and joined the international movement Culture Declares Emergency.

We champion education, culture, and sustainability

We use culture and the arts as tools to promote sustainability, recognising the need to preserve the rural landscape and culture.

We take inspiration from the core

We research and preserve the knowledge of the rural world to innovate, make use of resources more efficiently, and reduce the environmental impact of our activities and services.

We value diversity

We take action by respecting and preserving learnings from our biological and cultural diversity.

We promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking

We are a space where people can gather together to learn and debate different options and perspectives on environmental sustainability and its challenges.

We encourage social engagement and participation

We work to facilitate participation in cultural life. We promote gender equality and encourage participation, dialogue, and interaction with social actors

We design spaces and activities with people and the planet in mind.

We have tools to innovate and continuously improve our space, processes, activities and services, adapting them to the needs of the people and the planet.

We strive for collective wellbeing

We want to be a place where everyone feels welcome, offering a high-quality physical, cultural and personal environment.

We follow a sustainable management model

We apply within our organisation the same sustainability criteria that we look for in society and expect from our partners.
